XML Challenge

The XML Challenge is searching for the new XML superstar. IDUG (International DB2® Users Group) is sponsoring the XML Challenge, a contest for developers -students or professionals- designed to to increase awareness and familiarity with XQuery, XML and DB2 programming languages.

The XML Challenge, designed to recognize developers and students, is open to teams of up to five people and individuals as well. Also, you may enter the contest yourself for a chance to win great prizes.

If you are a student, you must submit your entry before the end date of the contest, 30th of may 2009. The contest has five separate tracks for individuals of varying skill levels, you can enter one track or all five. You can compete on the bases on your skill.

Thre tracks include:

Video Contest: Upload a video wich will be judged by the community.

Gadget Contest: Create a small widget or gadget wich will be judged by the community.

XQuery Challenge: Answer a series of questions by developing queries in XQuery.

Port an Application: Port an existing application to use XML, XQuery or DB2.

Develop an application: Develop a brand new application using XML and/or XQuery.
